Welcome to Camber Custom Tattoo Machines.
The picture above is of the first machine I built. Obviously the one I am keeping. It runs real sweet. My own hand rolled coils. The frame is totally handmade from bare metal. Front contact and rear bindings made by myself.
I don't plan to put any machines on e.bay. See footnote at bottom of page for more details on this. Each machine takes me about 2 to 3 weeks of my spare time to build and as they become available I will be putting photos on here so you can have a look.
Every single machine will be different. No two the same. Please be aware that due to the nature of the way I shape the frames etc. they come with files marks and other engineering traits but all are thoroughly tested and tuned. No sharp edges to worry about, I make sure of all the small details. Basically, if I wouldn't use it then I won't sell it.
I am also offering a rebuild service for any machines you are having trouble with and if you have a named machine that you don't get on with but would like to part exchange it for one of mine then a deal may be possible.
Remember, my machines are completely handmade and generally have an industrial appearance.
If you are after something super smooth, custom made you might want to take a look at Ross Vickers' website , I have a couple of his machines in my collection, Well worth checking out. Ross designed the banner logo at the top of this page aswell...... cool or what. Nice one mate.
Watch this space.
More coming soon, gotta go, machines don't build themselves ya know.

FOOTNOTE.
Following the recent descision by myself to shut down my Camberink website I think I should explain why purely because it was quite popular. There's not enough time for me to keep an eye on the websites I have out there in cyberspace as it is and I decided that at least one had to go. I was never really into the whole tattooing side of the art, I only ever tattooed myself, and the engineering side of it has pretty much taken over. With new premises ( well new to me anyway ) now secured, rent paid and equipment moved, bastard job that was, things are on the up. I have been negotiating a deal for a couple of weeks on sharing the premises with another engineer who makes some part or the other that I have never heard of for machines I never use. Still, good luck, he gets to use my mill and I get to use his lathe. Not bad.
There are so many people out there putting tattoo machines together and listing them on ebay that I figure why bother. Most of them are just junk using parts from around the place, mainly China, I don't want to be in the same category, even though I am actually handmaking my machines. If needed, I can supply you with photos throughout the build stages of any machine you order to prove this. I will be listing some handmade parts on the bay eventually but for now I am just building machines.
Will I sell you a machine ? Why wouldn't I. Some machine suppliers will only supply to registered artists and that's fine for them, I have no problem with that at all, whatever the reason. My view is this. Firstly, some of the biggest suppliers of tattoo machines and equipment in the country will sell to anyone so what's good for them is fine by me. Secondly, you've got to start somewhere. The better the machine then hopefully the easier it may be. That is obviously not the be all and end all as there are some awful kitchen scratchers out there but as a general statement, if you have some cheapo bit of chinese shit for a machine then you could find yourself in problem areas. Think about this.... there are some pretty good self taught tattooists out there, yeah , maybe they came up against it a few times but you can put money on the fact that someone, at some point, gave them a break and supplied them with a machine or ink or whatever, and without that, they might not be quite where they are today. If every door was slammed in beginners faces then the whole industry would grind to a halt eventually. Not everyone gets an apprenticeship. Thirdly, there are such things as collectors out there. I myself collect machines, albeit on a very limited scale at the moment, but I don't tattoo at all. I don't have to to own a machine. That's absurd. That's like saying you can't own that work of art because you don't paint..... think about it. Fouth and finally...... you earn your money, who the hell am I to tell you what you can and can't spend it on. You wanna spend it on one of my machines or anybody elses machines then fine. It would be great if there were no kitchen scratchers at all but I know that's how many have started and I also know that with ebay and the like out there, they will always have an endless supply of equipment.
So, rather than run 2 tattoo based sites I figured lets just put most of the info on one, this one. I will be updating this site much more regularly and as soon as new machines are built and ready they will be on here for you to drool over.
Wanna know a bit about me...... what's to tell. I am old, bald and have been an engineer on a professional basis since I first did my apprenticeship in mechanical and electrical engineering in 1979. There, said I was old. Cars, bikes and buses, I have worked on them all. I got my very first tattoo from the great Terry Dino in Hayes in 1979 whilst still at school. He wasn't too fussed on your age back then. Jack Zeek and his son followed, also in Hayes and after 10, yes just 10 tattoos I became a member of the late great Jack Zeeks West London Tattoo Club and got the WLTC dragon head tattoo. I wonder how many of those he did over the years. Then I got bored of getting inked, marriage spent any money I had so none spare for tattoos. But then got back into it all a few years back and here I am. Natural progression into the engineering side of it I suppose. This is the scaled down version of my life you'll be pleased to know. There have been some other bits in there and there has even been some other boring tattoo stuff but hey, I don't give a shit about it so why would you , right.
Don't forget, come back soon, regular updates and new machines as I build them. Every one is different.
Remember this, whoever you are and whatever you do.
There's no substitute for life.
email me using above link. not too many insults please, only original ones
Now ready for sale. The Nuts. This machine's frame is built entirely from nuts and some threaded bar. Even the base plate is nuts. All standard adjustments and tightening can be made by hand via solid brass wing nuts, no tools needed. 8 wrap coils hand wound by me then covered with heat shrink for easy cleaning. Frame is mig welded for strength then brazed over in places for effect. Plenty file marks too !! this is handmade. It is one of a kind. It is set up as a shader and is running just under 100 hz with no follow thru and excellent duty cycle all at about 6 volts loaded. plenty power and a decent throw but can be set up to your liking. A true collectors item. But useable aswell. I will be making one of these as a lefty and that is it. this took ages. Price on application. serious offers invited.
